 Ryan Humeniuk
CLASS OF: 2016
POSITION: Outfield
CLUB SUMMER TEAM: Interlake / Okotoks Dawgs

What school are you currently at and how many years have you been there? Any other schools you attended before your current school?

I am currently attending the University of Louisiana Monroe located in Monroe Louisiana. This is my third year here and my fifth year playing college baseball. Before ULM, I attended Indian Hills Community College in Centerville Iowa for two years.

Where are you from? What high school did you attend?

I am from Stonewall Manitoba, and I attended Stonewall Collegiate Institute.

What was your club team?

Originally my club team was the Interlake Orioles, but I also spent time playing for the North Winnipeg Pirates.

If you could tell your Grade 12 self something that could help him moving forward in life and ball, what would it be?

- I would say that good things take time and don’t try to rush things along just keep working.
- Get in the weight room and take care of your body!
- Enjoy the journey, your time in college baseball goes so fast, enjoy it.

What major are you taking and why did you choose it?

I recently graduated in Business Finance and have just started my master’s in business administration. I chose this degree because I find the connection between the everyday events and the markets to be fascinating and think it is very cool to see how all these things affect the world economics.

How did being in the HRSTC prepare you for the challenges you face today?

Homerun and Rookies taught me what the expectations of a college baseball player were. They taught me how to work hard with both focus and intent. They are a huge part of my career and my development as a person. I can’t imagine I would be where I am today without those programs.

How did you choose to attend ULM?

I chose ULM because of the coaches and the passion that they had for their program. They made me feel like I was part of the team before I ever was. They were honest with me about their expectations of me as well as their expectations of any player in their program. Their expectations aligned with the expectations I had for myself and it was an easy decision.
